Catch Up Time...

Catch up time...

I can't believe it has been a month since I last posted. Wow! This past month has been so crazy! After an awesome day at church and an afternoon spent with great friends, I am enjoying this much needed time of relaxing.
Let me catch you up on everything that has transpired this past month....
As a family we reached another milestone and purchased our first home!! Yay! We closed on that on the 31st of May, and quickly began moving out of our apartment and in our new house. What was originally supposed to be a slow move in, (intending on just moving the things that we needed and then get the rest of the stuff throughout the week) turned into a stressful and exhausting three days. We originally were going to have to pay apartment rent until July, so we didn't feel pressured about getting out in a hurry, but thankfully we were able to work something out with a friend to take over the lease. So the pressure was on!! AH! It was crazy. Finally, three days later, we did our last vacuuming at 12:30am and said good bye to our first “home” as a married couple and also Evee's first. We are now in our brand new home, and loving it. I do admit is kind of overwhelming “setting up home”.
Summertime is here! School is out, so we have my 2 brothers, my niece, my nephew, my cousins 14 month old, and then Evee all here. I am thankful for the house, I couldn't imagine doing this in the apartment. Now, my brothers are usually only here during the day until the evening, some times over for dinner and game time, my niece and nephew go home a couple days a week, and my cousins baby goes home on the weekend. So weekends we are normally only left with with a couple, if not just Evee, but even then everything is still nonstop with church, house projects, and just trying to put the house back in order. It is fun and interesting having all the kids here, sometimes it is so loud and constant commotion and other times it is just full of laughter while playing games. Either way, I wouldn't trade it.
My parents found a cat while they were out mushroom hunting (you know you are in Michigan, when people go mushroom hunting :] ). We talked my dad into letting my brothers keep it. This cat ate and ate and ate, her stomach grew and grew and grew. And then there it was, a huge tummy for such a small cat, she was pregnant!! We figured this out only about 2 weeks before she gave birth. We were all sitting in the living room of my parents new house talking with my Aunt and we were talking about how we thought the cat was going to give birth soon. She had been laying on the couch for hours even with people over, which wasn't her norm. Well, we were petting her and her stomach made a weird movement. SHE WAS IN LABOR ON THE COUCH!! What cat goes in labor on the couch??? She gave birth to 5 cute kittens!!! They are a week old today and so precious. So in about 8 weeks these kittens are looking for good homes, if you are interested let me know. :)
Evelynn is getting so big! She is saying Mama, Dada, Baba and Grandma (only a couple times). During our move we had left her in the living room of the apartment while we carried something down to the car (Cynthia was in the apartment too, so she wasn't left alone). We walked back into the apartment to find our daughter finally pulled herself up. She had been working at that for awhile, only to end in frustration.

Now it is almost a month later and she is a pro. She is walking from one thing to the next while holding on, and getting really mad when she tries to walk without holding on, it results in falling on her bum! Evee finally has her second tooth. Two little ones on the bottom, I love seeing them when she smiles!!
Here are a couple more pictures....
