Holidays

We all look forward to holidays, when everyone is off work and can spend a little time together as a family and relax. Right? Well, why is it that EVERY holiday, we say we are going plan that nice relaxing holiday. However, when it actually comes, we have booked every minute of the day, and most of it apart from staying together as a family. Grr...
Saturday we had a Cure Search Walk, here in Kalamazoo. It was such a success, for such a great cause- A hope that one day, every child who has cancer, will have a cure. We raised over $30,000 in one afternoon. So exciting!!:) During this event, one of our youth at our church, Kendra Cook, shaved her head to make a stand and to help with getting donations. Her brother battled cancer a few years back, when he was about 5. Thankfully, he survived and is living an outstanding life. We just hope one day every child could have that outcome.

Evee also enjoyed the day helping me with the crafts for all the children. We couldn't resist her first face painting. :) After a long day she FINALLY crashed!

I should also mention that Ryan spent the WHOLE day roofing a house with his father. After about 11 hours of strenuous and taxing work, he finally made it home completely exhausted.
Sunday, we did have a little more relaxing day. We had church and then family came over for a BBQ. Sad, we weren't in our new home yet to do this, but patience right? FRIDAY! I should also mention we have an exchange student now living with us for about 4 weeks. She is from Switzerland, and it very sweet. We actually have known and hung out with her since last August, as she lived with my some of our family members. We thought we would change things up a bite :).
Today, was a bit busier again. Ryan was off to work another long day of roofing. While he was off working, we went to Holland for a pool party. Evelynn has VERY few crabby days, but today ended up being one of them. I think we have worn her out this weekend and it was catching up with her. However, she loved putting her feet in the pool, or should be say giant bathtub. She, however, didn't like when we put her whole body in. I think it was too cold for her. She was exhausted at the end of the day.

I hope everyone had a great holiday! And now onto another week....

Got Milk?

So we were at a wedding, in Milwaukee, and at the reception Evelynn decided to pose a perfect picture for the milk adds...

Rub A Dub Dub..

Bath time with Evee is always fun! Especially now that she can sit up on her own. We gave her her first bubble bath last night. She didn't know what all that white bubbly stuff was. At first it kinda freaked her out a little. She was anticipating being put in a tub of nice warm water, with all her favorite bath toys, but to her surprise it didn't look like water. :). She soon adapted well and had fun with the tub of bubbles.
She is starting to look like a toddler already...*tear*

Lunch With Grandma Pauls..

Monday, I took to Evelynn to have lunch with Grandma Pauls and Sue's cousin Nancy. She had such a blast, and smiled at everyone and everything she saw! She is such a ham! I lover her smile.

Tulip Time :)

The start of Tulip Time officially started on Friday, which was supposed to include dancing and then Fireworks to finish the night off. Because of the weather they postponed everything, but the weather was not going to get the best of us! So we headed downtown Holland and braved the weather, which really turned out nice. Of course this was Evelynn first time at Tulip Time. She loved all the commotion of people and and the bright concession booths. We couldn't pass up taking pictures of her by the tulips either. We will be going back on Friday and hopefully Saturday for the big parade.
